It’s an odd experience putting your life into storage. I’ve moved house, before but this is different. Our lives have been packed up into boxes, and around the house are bare walls and empty shelves.
It’s amazing to me how little I need for the six months ahead. I keep thinking that I must have missed something. Clothes, check. Camera, check. Laptop, check. Oh: wife: check.
But the slight melancholy at seeing our lives dismantled doesn’t even come close to denting the feeling of adventurous anticipation: Jude and I are finally leaving! Europe, Africa, Australia; here we come :o)
Where’s your toothbrush?
